Day 144: Grow Up Without Growing Old

I began the day as any responsible adult would. I got dressed, commuted to work, and logged onto my computer.

While I waited for my programs to open, I put out candy for my co-workers. I paid medical bills. I figured out what I could get done off my to do list and I drugged me. Once the five pills were down I began writing my stories for the noon newscast.

Two and hours later it was time for lunch. An hour after that, I wrote more stories and marked the time until I could leave work.

I ran errands after work then flopped down into a seat on the train. I was mentally and physically exhausted so I decided to browse for holiday presents online. I landed on https://www.shopdisney.com

On the bottom of the page I saw a box that read,”Disney Yourself.” It looked like something aimed at kids but I was drawn to it. So I clicked on it and was taken to the http://lol.disney.com/disney-yourself page.

I scrolled through the options for hair, skin, clothes, etc… I played for 20 minutes creating happy versions of myself. By the time I was done, I was smiling and joyful. I felt youthful and lighter than I had all day.

It’s like Frank Lloyd Wright said, “Youth is a circumstance you can’t do anything about. The trick is to grow up without getting old.”
