Author Biography:
Nika C. Beamon is the author of the well-received memoir, Misdiagnosed: The Search for Dr. House. It was endorsed by bestselling authors: Wes Moore, Richard Cohen, Marya Hornbacher and Paula Kamen. She is the host ofthe forthcoming podcast, Chronic. It focuses the issues facing people living with chronic illness and chronic pain. It will also cover the issues and people chronically on the mind of each of us.

In 2009, Chicago Review Press published her non-fiction book, I Didn’t Work This Hard Just to Get Married. She’s also written two mystery novels, Eyewitness and Dark Recesses,


Beamon is a TV News Writer in New York. She was also a columnist for the Huffington Post. She attended Boston College in Massachusetts.

Beamon has been credited as a reference in the several books on television news. She has also won several awards throughout her career including a Peabody Award for ABC News’ coverage of the September 11th attacks.

She is a member of the Great Black Speakers Bureau and the Writers Guild of America East. She has the Ambassadors for Autoimmune Walk NYC sponsored by the AARDA for several years.
