It’s easy to take basic things for granted like eating or talking. I don’t. I recently had my esophagus dilated for the third time just so I could swallow basic things or eat a meal with some enjoyment.
After the outpatient procedure, I was given medication to help me process food with less pain and sleep without waking up to throw up. On top of that, I started an additional medication my doctor thinks could reduce the inflammation caused by my autoimmune disease, #igg4. So I’m now back to 9 pills a day.
I didn’t get to be down too long because a friend of mine, a coworker, heard about plight. Even though she was heading in for a procedure of her own, she took the time to send me nutrition shakes. This shook me out of my funk. I turned my thoughts to the unexpected gifts I’ve received like having other people to care for me when I can’t care for myself. I thought about that again today when I got a notice from #tophost that I had made it to the top 10 in my group. Dozens of people have voted for me to win this podcast. I am grateful. Of course, the next round of voting is here. Voting ends on November 5th at 7 p.m. If you would please cast a free vote for me. You can vote every 24 hours.
