Hype Yourself To What’s Important

Have you ever tried to hype yourself for something that you weren’t in the mood for, didn’t feel like doing or attending, or weren’t prepared to deal with at all? This is the situation I find myself in as Christmas rapidly approaches.

Last night, I went to bed at 9:30 because my body was feeling feverish, achy and run down again. I did a Covid test and that was all clear, which was relief. At that point, I figured I was just feel the normal sickness that sometimes comes with my autoimmune disease, especially when I’ve been doing too much.

I probably should change my middle name to does too much. However, my condition has taught me to do what I can when I can because there are days when I can’t do anything. So, I’ve been working, cooking, cleaning, house hunting, and planning a wedding in less than three months. To get through it all I’ve even hyping myself up, pretending it’s fun.

For Day 20 of my Christmas sweater countdown, I picked a shirt that’s all about convincing yourself to take a leap and do what needs to be done even if you’re tired, or scared . Why should do that? For me, I do it because what I’ll gain from completing my tasks is worth it.

(P.S. I finally saw Die Hard this year and I don’t think it’s a Christmas movie. Sorry!)
