While walking home on a cold, damp night I stopped up and looked at the trees. They were glazed with a fine coating of ice; frozen in time. For a moment I wish I could be too.

I’d been showered with well wishes all day for my birthday. And, I knew in a few hours I would fade back into my normal place in the background.

I took a few steps and I felt droplets on my head. I knew then as I know now that, like with the trees, ti can’t stay in the moment. I must embrace change to continue blossoming.

My moment in the light let me know my presence on this Earth is considered beautiful and admired by some; a wonderful reminder. Now, as Isabel Allende once write, “What’s done is done; I have to look ahead.” ONWARD!
