Day 149: Even The Smallest Effort Helps

As a chronically ill person I know how lonely, depressed and hopeless you can feel while stuck in a facility undergoing treatment. So, I was pleased to be able to donate 50 toys/books/games to sick kids in the hospital last week. But, today, I was moved to tears as I stretched and strained lifting and looking through the bags of items my longtime friend/former roommate Diane brought to my home to aid my efforts. Combined, we can bring a little joy and normalcy to about 100 kids now. What a blessing!! It will be a happy holiday season for so many because they’ll know that in their worst moment, they weren’t forgotten. And, that someone cared enough to try to make them smile.
