Life Is Always In Bloom

“Steroids. Check. Medication. Check. Face steamer. Check. Pack my husband’s lunch. Done. Laptop and computer turned on. Done. Start noon show stories. Check,” I mumbled as I began my work day like any other. Then, I flipped over my phone and stared at my to do list. I noticed that not much had changed from the day before or the weeks before that. “The days of my life are ticking by and each of them looks the same.”

I closed my eyes and sat in silence for a few seconds, trying not to let my frustration overwhelm me. My meditation was interrupted by a faint knock on my door.

By the time I got to the bottom step, I saw a truck pulling away. I looked down to discover a long plain box on my door mat. I brought it in and cut it open. Inside was a beautiful bouquet of white Lillies. There was also a note from a female friend. It said that while they weren’t my favorite flowers, the bouquet was a small thank you for being a part of her life.

I thought, “I may not always notice but life is always in bloom even when things seem stagnant. Just by being alive and present, I may be changing someone else’s existence. And, people around me remind me that every day filled with love is motivation to keep “watering” my dreams and goals.”
