No one ever told me that everything in life that’s necessary won’t always be comfortable. I heard, “life isn’t fair,” but thats a slightly different notion than the previous.

The older I get the more I realize there are some things I just don’t feel like doing or aren’t comfortable doing like planning a funeral, informing someone of a death, going to work when I’m not 100 percent, attending an event when I’m not in the best mood or arranging a family holiday gathering despite being tired. However, all of those things are often required for the betterment of a family, a career, friendship or is simply a rite of passage of adulting. So I chose Santa splitting his pants trying to get down chimney for day 12 of my ugly Christmas sweater countdown.

Having said that, I’ve also discovered there is a need for balance in life. So I bend but won’t break myself for anyone or anything. And, if something doesn’t fit, I don’t force it.
