Nika C. Beamon is the author of the well-received memoir, Misdiagnosed: The Search for Dr. House. It garnered rave reviews from Kirkus Reviews, Publisher's Weekly, IndieReader, etc... It also received several notable advanced endorsements from bestselling authors: Wes Moore, Richard Cohen, Marya Hornbacher and Paula Kamen. In 2009, Chicago Review Press published her non-fiction book, I Didn't Work This Hard Just to Get Married in 2009. It has been mentioned on the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show and in publications such as: Thegrio.com, TheRoot.com, in Uptown Magazine, Port of Harlem Magazine, New Jersey Monthly.com, Reader's Digest.com, Parle' Magazine, Harlem Community News Paper, The Amsterdam News, etc... Prior to a career in television, she pursued a BA in Communications and a BA in Sociology at Boston College in Massachusetts. She is a member of the Great Black Speakers Bureau, the Writers Guild of America East, and the National Association of Black Journalists. She has been the keynote speaker for Autoimmune Walk NYC sponsored by the AARDA.
