On paper, it often appears as if I share my life with no one other than my parents and a few select friends/co-workers. But, that’s far from the truth. I’ve shared the better part of a decade with a man who has a birthday today.
He chooses to remain private; to live a less public existence while I live my life out loud. My thoughts, my actions, my battle against chronic illness/autoimmune disease and even my mistakes are regularly chronicled in print or online. But, I leave him out of most of my posts or omit his name and other identifying information from stories. I do it because I respect his desire to live his life the way he’s most comfortable.
So today, I hope he continues to search for and obtain whatever will make his life more peaceful. I pray that this new year of life is easier than the last. And, I hope that our differences will continue to draw us together and not pull us a part. I know they won’t if we support each other’s effort to live the best life possible.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DEAR!
