Who doesn’t have bills? I suspect the answer is no one including those who are wealthy. Whether rich or poor bills are a certainty in life. Paying them sometime requires creativity.
I have my 9-6 job, where I am in the middle of contract negotiations. I’m trying to fight for enough money to have something leftover after paying a mortgage, rising property taxes, groceries, gas and insurance costs. I also have to shell out for benefits, medical bills, medications, New Jersey toll increases, looming congestion pricing (when I travel into the city), and upcoming surgeries (a knee replacement, hand joint rebuilding surgery, and foot surgery to repair those joints).
What would I do with the extra? I don’t know… try to enjoy my life with a few vacations, some home improvements and a boost to my savings.
I have written four books and done motivational speaking on the side to supplement my paycheck since I was 26 years old. So, I’m grateful for what I have and what’s to come. Still, using my money to give gifts to an assortment of people, just because, isn’t high on my priority list. After all, love don’t cost a thing I’ll continue to give that to those that deserve it… and maybe they’ll get a little something extra.
